What Happens After the Balloons Pop?
Every year, millions of balloons harm ecosystems, pollute oceans, and threaten wildlife. At lokaReboon, we saw an opportunity to turn this waste into something meaningful—sustainable materials that inspire change.

Doing Good,
One Balloon at a Time
At lokaReboon, our work doesn’t stop at recycling—it reaches into the heart of communities. In Xiong’an New Area, where many women previously worked in small balloon factories under unsafe conditions, we saw a chance to do more than reduce waste. By upgrading the waste recycling industry chain in Hugezhuang Village, we’ve transformed discarded balloons into not only sustainable materials but also new opportunities.
Through safer workplaces, stable incomes, and skill-building workshops, we’re empowering local women to reshape their futures.

Founder’s Vision
At the heart of lokaReboon is a belief: that every discarded item holds untapped potential. Ripple Lianyi Chen, the founder of lokaReboon, envisioned a future where design and sustainability go hand in hand. With a background in Fashion Design & Material Science from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and a Master’s degree in Textiles from the Royal College of Art, Ripple combines artistic innovation with scientific precision to rethink what’s possible. This vision is embodied in every aspect of lokaReboon, from its name to its mission.
“I believe every balloon carries a moment of joy, and through lokaReboon, I want to extend that joy—transforming fleeting emotions into lasting beauty and purpose.”
